LANP Public Policy Committee
Chair: Lisa Bayhi
Political Action Committee (PAC): Fabian Whitney
The LANP Public Policy Committee, consisting of LANP interested members from across the state meets on a regular basis to plan, monitor and evaluate public policy strategies that would affect health care and Nurse Practitioners in Louisiana. LANP acts as a unified voice for its members in health care matters, and donations for these purposes are made through LANP’s Political Action Committee. The PAC whose purpose is to collect, manage and distribute monies donated by LANP members, works closely with the Public Policy Committee.
The public policy committee co-ordinates a communication network with LANP’s Regional Representatives, networks with other professional organizations, and works closely with our two lobbyists to gain benefits, judicial quality, and status for not only Nurse Practitioners but for all those involved in the health care industry, recipients as well as professionals. This committee has the responsibility to keep the LANP membership informed on all current legislative healthcare policies and procedures that affect Nurse Practitioners including how PAC monies are spent.
